At last the good news for SPA that we have waited so long for, was released in the Press this week.

The Town Council have signed the contract on the sale of the land at the EcoTech site for the future building of a leisure and fitness centre to include a swimming pool. The present Swaffham and District Swimming Pool Association have been pressing for a facility of this kind for almost 12 years and at last the loyalty of our members and the hard work put in by the Committee is beginning to bear fruit. The Town Council have now provided the land and the battle begins to find the funding.
Even in this present climate of financial gloom, we will not be downhearted as there is money out there - we just need to source it. We have a dedicated Board of Directors appointed by the Association who are constantly working towards our goal, with the enthusiasm of our membership behind us we hope it will not take another 12 years to achieve it. WE WILL HAVE OUR SWIMMING POOL IN SWAFFHAM.
